RETAIL OPERATIONS MANAGER | THE ROLE

Description

As Retail Operations Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the retail division The Nooks and leading our expansion into new markets. As the liaison between HQ and all retail outlets, you will be managing the day-to-day performance of our retail teams, ensuring all stores are supported, organizational standards are being met, and sales targets and recruitment efforts of new vendors are exceeded. Reporting to the operations team and founder, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Tasks

  • Support store growth by leading cross-functional teams on operational execution, recruiting, on-boarding of new vendors and on going vendor + community relations.
  • Recruit, interview, execute on-boarding process for all store positions, providing performance feedback to ensure growth, change and results.
  • Oversee and assist in organizing mandatory recurring team training programs for all stores, to improve selling techniques, teamwork, and employee and vendor morale.
  • Partner with marketing team to drive traffic through retail events and activation. Implementing strategy to increase traffic and improve customer / vendor retention and experience.
  • Develop new processes and frameworks to improve store organization and efficiency.
  • Ensure all locations and teams are upholding organizational standards of store appearance, product knowledge and customer experience.
  • Work with operations team to set KPIs in support of all retail business objectives, reporting on each weekly, monthly and quarterly sales + recruitment.
  • Recurring/regular store visits to all Retail Nook locations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years managing high volume retail with a focus on customer experience and community building.
  • Must be prepared to travel significantly between markets and spend extended stays in new markets.
  • Action oriented, driven for results.
  • Natural ability to motivate others and build effective teams.
  • Skilled at mediating and negotiating to resolve conflict.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Social media platforms, Microsoft operating systems, and email.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, fun attitude and boost employee, customer and vendor morale to grow participation in The Nooks key programs and partnerships Canada wide.
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment with a desire to take initiative and a desire to lead!
  • Must have valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
  • Must have laptop and cell phone.
